Columbia Community Bible Church

We are a InFaith Community Bible Church with a mission: to enable people, empowered by the Spirit to love others because Jesus first loved them.

Why pray?

We not only pray to obey God’s command, 1 Thessalonians 5:17; Ephesians 6:18, we pray to talk to God, Matthew 7:7-8; to receive His blessings and resources, Philippians 4:6. We pray to express our appreciation to God for Who He is and what He does, no matter what the circumstances, 1 Thessalonians 5:18; Psalm 34:8; Psalm 150. We pray to intercede for others in their needs, 1 Timothy 2:1-2. As Brother Lawrence, the 17th c. French monk wrote “we establish ourselves in God by having lots of conversations with Him,” Brother Lawrence, The Practice of the Presence of God, translated by Donald D.
