God, the Father, delights in His Son, Jesus
Mt. 3:17, KJV, “ ‘This is My beloved Son, in Whom I am well-pleased.’ ”
Jn. 17:24, “… You [Father] loved Me before the creation of the world.”
Isa. 42:1 “Here is My servant, whom I uphold, My chosen one in whom I delight; I will put My Spirit on Him and He will bring justice to the nations.”

God, the Father, delights in us as His sons and daughters
Eph. 1:4-8 “For He [the Father] chose us in Him [Jesus] before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in His sight. In love He predestined us to be adopted as His sons through Jesus Christ, in accordance with His pleasure and will— to the praise of His glorious grace, which He has freely given us in the One He loves.
