God is With You, as our Friend

1 Jn. 4:19 “We love Him [God], because He first loved us.”

Prov. 18:24 “A man of many companions may come to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.”

Jn. 15:15 “I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master's business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from My Father I have made known to you. ”

Heb. 13:5 “ ‘Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.’ ”

What God is looking for from us, for being our friend

Jn. 15:14 “You are My friends if you do what I command.”

Jn. 14:15 “If you love Me, you will obey what I command.”

Jam. 2:23 “… ‘Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness,’ and he was called God's friend.”

Prov. 22:11 “He who loves a pure heart and whose speech is gracious will have the king for his friend.”

Prov. 27:10 “Do not forsake your friend and the friend of your father, and do not go to your brother's house when disaster strikes you — better a neighbor nearby than a brother far away.”

Song of Solomon 5:16 “His mouth is sweetness itself; he is altogether lovely. This is my lover, this my friend, O daughters of Jerusalem.”

Jam. 4:4, “Do you not know that friendship with the world is hostility toward God? Therefore whoever wishes to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.”
